“101 Simple Truths For A Better Life” Humble The Poet (5) “GOLDEN GIRLS”

“Let’s have strawberry shortcake to celebrate another day on Earth.”  When the cake arrives the lady asks the waitress, “Did you remember to take out the calories?”  We must learn and start to paint the world we want to see.  Do you want a world with ten shades of grey, or black and white?  Well the reality is it will all be about how you choose to paint your picture.  It wont matter if at the end of the day if your view of the world is that it is nothing but shit.  Humble says “simply put, if you think life sucks, life will suck; and you’ll ignore your full fridge, running water, access to internet, and ability to have leisure time to even contemplate how much life sucks”.

Be honest, do you focus on the people that love you, or the ones that won’t return your calls?  Do you share your problems or your joys with people?  I’m not going to sit here and even begin to pretend that I am someone who I am not, and yes, I have spent most my life focussing on those who didn’t return my calls or texts, I even made it a point at times to count the number of my texts versus the other persons, almost like a strange internal competition.  And why would the world want to hear my problems?  What makes me so unique as an individual that my so called problems trump that of the other person?  The reality is it would and will never.  It all comes down to the brushstroke we want to use to paint our picture.  The only reason I wasn’t important enough to receive that return phone call or text is simply because I was thinking in this manner and nothing else.

“The old lady came up with the idea of ordering the strawberry shortcake after hearing another table sing happy birthday for their friend.  She found inspiration in their celebration and found an excuse to celebrate herself”.  So let’s use this as our own ammo.  Let’s make an excuse to be happy right now and start painting our pictures using positive thoughts and a palette of colours not just black and white (how boring).  Every day is a new day for us to see our world in a different lense, and paint it with the finest of colours and brushstrokes.

Realize, every thought you have is a brushstroke on the world you see…
