“101 Simple Truths For A Better Life” Humble The Poet (8) “WHEN LESS IS MORE”

 

Apparently the less we give a damn, the happier we’ll be.  We will be able to create a life that not only feels good on the inside, it will be one that doesn’t simply look good from the outside.  We will never be able to see other peoples struggles, pains or pressures, what we will see is the front they put on just like we do.  We all have them, we will continue to have them, so trying to evaluate our own personal life in comparison to others will simply leave us feeling more and more depressed.

“When we focus on creating happiness from the outside in, we’ll continue to fail because we’re using other people’s measures of success, and pretending they’re our own”.  If wearing faded torn joggers with a childhood hoody makes you feel like a million bucks just remember that how you and I feel is more important than how we look, and the best thing we can wear and continue to wear is our confidence and happiness.

Let’s not care what others think until we have honestly taken our own thoughts into consideration.  We will never be able to make everyone happy, way too many opinions in this world.  Some will be in our favour and some will not, this is reality.

“Give a damn about yourself first, then those who give a damn about you, and then see if you have any damns left to give”.


What will truly make you happy?

  We can’t and will never be ourselves if we don’t know ourselves, and we can’t know ourselves, if all we know about who we are, is in comparison to others.  We will never know all the problems and stresses that others are going through and some would argue nor do we need to.  My personality type doesn’t always allow this, and to be quite frank, I don’t want to.  I like being a person that people feel comfortable talking to, confiding in, and love helping others whenever and wherever I possibly can.  This doesn’t mean that this is where all my time goes to, it’s vital at the same time to constantly be exploring who we are, especially on the inside.   “Either pray or worry - - don’t do both.” ~ 50 Cent Regardless of your spiritual inclinations, this quote hits a note.  It comes down to your need for control; our need to understand and make sense of things; and our need to NEED.  Our minds are dramatically more complex than other life forms, but that’s not necessarily always a good thing. “We internalize things more and manufacture suffering.  No animals are worried about what time it is, or being late, or even running out of time.   Animals only experience fear in the present, and that fear is what they use to get out of danger.  Our fears plant seeds in our brain to grow into things we have yet to experience or finished experiencing a long time ago.  For reasons like this, we’ve done wonders in the field of suffering.”  We unfortunately don’t have a pill option for this.  Worry exists in the future, and like depression of the past, it can spiral out of control very quickly.  The an...
